This was only $20 as compared to similar-looking shirts with neck gaiter on Amazon. Although I am a size small but slightly tall woman, I ordered this so that I could get the longer sleeves, looser fit, and longer body size. I also ordered the men's medium because a male family member in my household wears that size, and we are a family who is happy to share clothing occasionally, especially for specialty items we don't each need all the time. The size is as expected. The light blue and white water print is very pretty and looks like water glistening in the sun. It's rich pastel blue, and I like it a lot. I didn't want to get an aggressively traditionally male-looking print because the neighborhood people I walk with are very traditional and they always comment when my clothing is different than what they wear, haha. Also, a lot of the products like this had colors that would not suit me. Yet, it's a men's shirt and most men would find it sufficiently "male" looking for their tastes. The hood fits well, even with my long, thick hair, but it's not a huge hood. On me a size small or borderline medium woman, it's big and baggy, as expected. I wanted that.I appreciated the mesh-like panels on the inside of the arms for ventilation. The shirt was hot and sweaty when the temperatures here were hot. It wasn't as bad as wearing a trash bag, but it was less comfortable than cotton or linen. I wore a large brimmed hat with a shapeable brim so I could protect my neck and face and did not rely on the hood for that. I didn't wear the hood on my hikes but might wear it if out fishing or camping sometime. The gaiter was okay for putting over the lower face and neck but it was too hot in our high temps for wearing so I relied on the hat with a little sunscreen on my lower face and neck. Although I wore the gaiter on my neck, it is soft material and didn't stand up so it mostly pooled around the lower neck, providing sun protection there and around the high collar area. The sleeves were plenty long and would fit my 6 ft tall son, even using the thumb holes. If someone were heavy, they might be as long on them as they'd stretch sideways and be shorter. My son is lanky and narrow.I can recommend this, understanding that it's hot on very hot days due to the tight weave and synthetic fabric. That weave and fabric content is what makes it protect you from the sun. So, it's worth having and using if you're realistic. I didn't seem to get any darker of a tan on days I wore it. Since I got the light color and lighter colors are less protective (but probably cooler), darker colors will likely be more protective but hotter. So, this would be great for days that have moderate to cooler temps and okay if you can handle a little heat on hotter days. Just have a cold drink, a super widebrimmed hat for head and neck protection as well as some cooling effect due to shade.I would buy a loose dress in this fabric and wear it with cotton bicycle shorts (and a light cotton bra) in case of wardrobe malfunction in the breeze when hiking or when sitting in a boat or on a big boulder with people taking pictures. I"d want the thumbholes with sleeves that are plenty long, a high neck that can be opened easily when stepping out of the sun to cool off (light zipper, buttons, or a string tie), and an attached hood that has a way to cover the lower face and neck optionally. I'd also wear something like that with leggings or light hiking pants, understanding that it could snag if in rough territory. Women need more options that are practical. A lot of women's UPF clothing has short sleeves, low necklines, or other counterproductive style aspects that would expose the woman to sun damage. A few weeks of tanning then turns into a lifetime of skin damage.Overall, I like this product with the caveat that it feels muggy in hot temps due to limited ventilation, a given due to the type of fabric. Get darker colors for more protection.Super comfortable for, gables both hot and chilly weather well, fantastic for fun protection. I do not like the newer style mask that has breathing holes as well as the old style with no holes and a bigger fitThese are great hoodies! I bought two, a blue and green one for fishing in Mexico and worked just as well during the heatwave this summer in Idaho! They fit true to size, are cool in the sun and even come with a neck gaiter. I love the zippered pocket at the waist, great for your phone or fishing license unless you are prone to falling in the water! What more can a fisherman ask for? These are much cheaper than the name brand sun shirts and are just effective. This has no front pockets to store the mask unlike the green and white version for some reason. Green/white is the best one.i was looking for the NRS SHIRT that is the same model but cost a way more expensive then this one.. so! i'm please to give it a chance.. and happy to say it does the good job i expected to. the mesh face covering is removable so! it's a plus. its comfy not too hot in hot days, and dry fast when i'm paddling my kayak.i'm looking to buy some more. :) in many other colors.I have trying out for the first time out on the boat fishing, it was really hot and I really liked the way that it doesn't stick to your body when you are sweet. The material doesn't shrink after washed.Good value and like it. Only beef with this is that the hood is too large and flops down into your eyes when pulled in your head. This is overall a good hooded shirt with comfortable fabric and as mentioned by others, a confusing dual logo on the left chest area.Washed it and tried it on. Good fit and look forward to wearing it on my next Florida trip.
